Looking for hot spots in Philadelphia, where you can escape from the stress of work and hang with your favorite people? I suggest starting your evening by grabbing drinks at the luxurious bar found in the lounge area of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Here, you will find the most successful and intriguing city natives, as well as a few interesting non-city dwellers.
After a few cocktails at this historic hotel, grab a quick cab to Independence Beer Garden, a 20,000 square-foot, all-American beer garden which overlooks the Liberty Bell and Independence National Historic Park. After making your drink selection from a list of 40 taps of regional and domestic craft beers, you can enjoy an almost college-like atmosphere, with timber décor, distressed metals, Tivoli lights, fire pits and plenty of games. Ladies, if games aren’t your thing, enjoy a leisurely evening with your favorite gal pals, being thoroughly entertained by all the handsome men who frequent this location. If you get the “munchies” while at Independence Beer Garden, no worries…just order something tasty from the menu of Top Chef Alum, Chef Travis Masar, who will be manning the kitchen!
For a more west-coast vibe, and one of my very favorite places to visit, try the rooftop lounge of Stratus. Eleven stories above Philly’s most historic block, you will find yourself immersed in a cosmopolitan world of class and sophistication. If you are in the mood for romance, grab a comfy couch for two in front of the outdoor fireplace. If you’re “on the prowl,” then grab a seat in plain view of the entrance and wait for that special someone who catches your eye. As for me, I find my solace on the dance floor, jamming to the finest mixes, hand-selected by the powerhouse Dj. Stratus is where you could spend the rest of your evening and never be disappointed. However, let’s just venture out for one more new experience before calling it a night.
Zee Bar is an evolutionary advance in city nightlife. A great location for corporate functions, private parties, or just a small group of friends, this bar offers breathtaking design and is both spacious and intimate at the same time. Yummy cocktails can be enjoyed in front of an encased fireplace, or while getting your groove on to an assortment of music as eclectic as the “City of Brotherly Love” itself. The separate, large rooms allow for a change of scenery and ambience, and as long as you keep your heels on your feet while on the dance floor, the burly bouncers pretty much leave you alone. The extended hours are also accommodating for Philly-goers who like to stay out all night.
The Ritz, Independence Beer Garden, Stratus and Zee Bar are just some of the many hot spots in Philly. Do you have a favorite??? Share it with us!!!
